Non-Traditional Admission Information
Non-Traditional Student Option

An individual who has completed an undergraduate (and graduate degrees) can apply for admission to the professional phase of the program. Selection decisions will be based on evaluation of the following:

  1. The Application for Admission to the Entry-Level Master of Physical Therapy Program, Department of Physical Therapy Professional Phase which includes:
    a. Clinical Experience Documentation Form
    b. Three letters of reference: one from a physical therapist, one from a college professor, and one that attests to the student's character
    c. Two essay questions
    d. Course Work in Progress Form
    e. Participation in college or community service activities
    f. The Safety and Technical Standards Form
  2. College cumulative grade point average. A 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale in undergraduate course work is required to make application to the program.
  3. College professional grade point average. A 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale in undergraduate course work in the natural and social sciences is required to make application to the program.
  4. A college transcript which includes the B.S. or B.A. degree. In addition, the following courses must be completed prior to beginning the professional phase of the program in the senior year:
    a. 3 semesters of biology equivalent to Biology 150, 160, and 221
    b. 2 semesters of physics equivalent to Physics 101, 102
    c. 2 semesters of chemistry equivalent Chemistry 109, 110
    d. 1 semester of computer science equivalent to Computer Science 105/107
    e. 3 semesters of humanities
    f. 3 semesters of social sciences
    g. 1 semester of statistics equivalent to Math 112 or Psychology 205
    h. 1 semester of English equivalent to English 170
  5. GRE scores
